Featuring 47,800 gross tons, Viking Orion, which is in the small cruise ship segment, has 465 cabins with accommodation for 930 passengers.

Fincantieri said that the Viking units are all built according to the latest navigation regulations and equipped with the most modern safety systems, including the “Safe return to port”.

Furthermore, they have high-efficiency engines, hydro-dynamically optimized streamlined hull and bow for maximum fuel efficiency and equipment that minimizes exhaust pollution and meets the strictest environmental regulations.

The first of the series, Viking Star was built at the shipyard in Marghera and delivered in 2015, followed by Viking Sea in 2016, Viking Sky and Viking Sun in 2017, all of which were built at the Ancona yard.

The cruise company’s sixth vessel, Viking Jupiter, was floated out just a few weeks ago. Other 10 units will take to the sea from the group’s Italian yards between 2019 and 2027.
