Finland: The Switch Selects David Ho as New Board of Directors Member

The Switch, a leading supplier of megawatt-class permanent magnet generator and full-power converter packages for wind power and other renewable energy applications, announces the addition of David Ho to the Board of Directors.

The addition of Ho helps The Switch demonstrate its deep commitment to its customer base in China. Ho possesses an impressive professional history, which has been built largely through his executive level service in the technology, media and telecommunications (TMT) industry in Greater China. He has also served on various company boards throughout the years and has gained experience as the founder and chairman of a private investment group. Ho’s experience and knowledge will help facilitate The Switch’s growth in China, its main market.

“China is the number one market for The Switch for our wind components as well as our emerging businesses of solar, marine and other industrial new energy applications. It is important also on the Board level that we have good knowledge of the market and up-to-date information of the market dynamics,” said Jukka-Pekka Mäkinen, President and CEO of The Switch. “With a deeper understanding of the situation in China, we can better serve the market.”

Ho brings with him several more factors, which will be crucial to The Switch’s success in China. He has an extensive network consisting of professional and governmental contacts. This is in addition to his experience as a consultant for multinational companies, which are looking to succeed in the Greater China market.

“I am excited to be selected to the Board of Directors of The Switch,” confirms David Ho. “I heard excellent testimonials from The Switch customers on the company’s technologies and services. I am looking forward to work with The Switch to take the technologies to other vertical markets.”

“We’re happy to have David join us as a member to bring new ideas and energy to our board,” adds Mäkinen.
