“Given the vessel repair is completed by that date, Olga Maersk will be 8-9 days behind schedule and therefore overtaken by MV ‘Spirit of Sydney’ Voy. 907S,” German liner company Hapag-Loyd said in an update.

The two boxships will be switching their positions on Australia/New Zealand service via Panama (ANP).

Once repaired, Olga Maersk will call Manzanillo, Panama / Cartagena, Colombia / Manzanillo, Panama to load all dry cargo left from weeks 7 and 8, 2019, the company added.

The 3,267 TEU ship suffered fire in the engine room while en route from Panama to Cartagena on January 29. There were no injuries to the crew reported and the fire was subsequently extinguished.

Following the incident, the vessel returned to Colon for repairs.
