First Q-Max unloading at Dahej LNG terminal

Petronet LNG said that the first Q-Max LNG carrier Mekaines with the capacity of 261,000 cbm arrived at Dahej LNG terminal from Ras-Laffan, Qatar.

This marks a major milestone for Petronet LNG that has expanded the Dahej terminal to include a second LNG jetty and accommodate larger vessels up to Q-Max size LNG vessels.

RasGas and Petronet signed the first sales and purchase agreement  in 2004 for 7.5 million metric tonnes per annum. The global energy supplier currently makes regular deliveries to Petronet’s Dahej and Kochi terminals in India. After South Korea, India is RasGas’ largest recipient of LNG by volume. RasGas will load its thousandth cargo destined to Dahej in mid-December of this year.

Petronet LNG is operating the 10 mmtpa Dahej terminal in the West Coast of India and the 5 mmtpa Kochi LNG terminal in the South Coast of India.

So far, Petronet LNG sourced approximate 1250+ cargoes at its Dahej LNG terminal that  is further being expanded to 15 mmtpa capacity.
