Flame: The Global LNG Summit Officially Open

The Global LNG Summit opened  on Monday 19 May, as a part of the Flame Conference held in Amsterdam.

Chris Johnson, General Manager of LNG New Markets of Shell LNG, opened the Summit with his presentation “Examining the Key Opportunities and Challenges facing the LNG Industry today”.

Following Mr Johnson, Andrew Walker, Head of LNG Strategy for BG Group, talked about the global supply/demand outlook and how much further will LNG revolutionize the global gas market dynamics.

Among other speakers were Hiroshi Hashimoto, senior researcher at The Institute of Energy Economics in Japan, who spoke about how Japan would manage increasing reactions to the costs of LNG procurement; Takao Kasumi, Deputy General Manager Paris Representative Office at Tokyo Gas, who spoke about diversifying the company’s portfolio of LNG procurement; and Andy Flower, independent consultant, who talked about the challenges for the Asian LNG buyers.
