Flexlife Thrilled with Progression of Its Newcastle Office

Flexlife Sees Growth at Newcastle Base, UK

Flexlife, a specialist provider of flexible pipe technologies and engineering services, has seen successful growth at its Newcastle base since opening 18 months ago.

The office has grown from three to 24 employees with turnover in excess of £1.5 million.

Andy Lake, appointed to head up the office as Director of Operations, has been recently appointed to the position of company wide Director – Flexible Pipe Technology in addition to continuing in his role spearheading development of the Newcastle base.

Lake said: “We are thrilled with the progression the Newcastle office has seen since its opening last year. We have surpassed our growth expectations and have built up a highly qualified team to execute projects around the globe, drawing on Flexlife’s project management, integrity management and engineering capabilities in combination with our portfolio of integrity management products.

“We have provided support to some major projects, and look forward to continuing to assist global projects and operations for our clients. We work closely alongside the Aberdeen office and anticipate further growth in our operations over the coming year.”

Flexlife Chief Executive Ciaran O’Donnell added: “With our growth in Newcastle, Flexlife has continued to build on its reputation for offering a complete subsea integrity and project management package, assisting clients to cost-effectively manage all of their subsea assets and infrastructure. Essentially, we help give our clients peace of mind that they have accurate data on their subsea equipment and the Newcastle base has played a major role in this.’’

Operations in Newcastle focus on flexible pipe technology and integrity management, providing individual or integrated support to the whole of Flexlife, which is headquartered in Aberdeen. The Newcastle office has assisted international clients in the Gulf of Mexico, North Sea, Irish Sea and West Africa.

The office has also been actively involved in charity events, including a 372-mile company-wide bike ride to raise funding for cancer research and a scholarship programme for local Durham High School for Girls to encourage women to consider a career in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.

Flexlife has a team of around 100 subsea engineers and support staff. Alongside its UK bases, Flexlife also has centres in the US and Brazil and operates globally.
