Former JP Morgan man joins Lamprell board

Lamprell, a UAE-based provider of fabrication, engineering and contracting services to the oil & gas industry, has appointed a new non-executive director to its board of directors

Lamprell said on Friday that Nicholas “Nick” Garrett was the latest addition to the company’s board with immediate effect. He was nominated by the company’s major shareholder, Lamprell Holdings Limited.

He comes to the company following a 23-year career at JP Morgan Cazenove, where he advised a wide range of companies on the delivery of their growth strategy, corporate transactions and access to capital.

In his role as the Head of the IPO/Execution Team, Garrett worked on Lamprell’s listing in 2006. According to Lamprell, Garrett formed a solid understanding of the company over the years.

John Kennedy, Chairman of Lamprell, said: “I am pleased to welcome Garrett to the board in light of his long experience. He was a key member of the financial advisory team that advised the Company on its IPO in 2006 and the subsequent move to the main market in 2008.

“He brings his considerable expertise in designing and implementing growth strategies, which will greatly benefit the Group as we position the business to respond when the market recovers.”

Before joining Lamprell, Garrett was employed for at JP Morgan Cazenove where he was a Managing Director and worked for 11 years as the Head of the IPO/Execution Team until 2012. Since 2012, Garrett has been consulting to various private companies on their growth strategy and access to funding.

He is also a member of both the Institute of Chartered Accountants and the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.
