Norwegian marine pumping systems specialist, Framo secured a contract to deliver its systems for a floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) ordered by shipowner GasLog at Samsung Heavy Industries.

Framo, an Alfa Laval company, expects to deliver the sea water lift pumps in August 2018.

This order follows a supply deal for similar pump systems for an FSRU under construction at the same Korean yard for shipowner Høegh LNG.

“In comparison with conventional pump systems, Framo’s pumps provide significant savings on space and eliminate the need for a separate pump room onboard the ship,” Framo said in a statement.

The company did not reveal the value of the latest deal.
