Fujian Datang to Invest in First Southern China’s Offshore Wind Farm

A subsidiary of China Datang Corporation, Fujian Datang International Wind Power Development, intends to invest up to 6 billion yuan (USD 952 million) in an offshore wind farm off Chinese southern coast, which would be the first one there, according to DesignBuild Source news site.

The company has already submitted the results of the project’s feasibility study to China’s State Energy Bureau in order to get an approval for the proposed 300 MW Liu’ao Hai offshore wind farm.

It will be located off the coast of Fujian province, near the Liu’ao Peninsula, comprising 3 to 5 MW turbines, which would generate between 0.6 and 0.73 terawatt hours of electricity annually.
