Gary Peterson from Linde North America Becomes Voting Member of CGA

Gary Peterson, head of engineering and technology development, Energy Solutions for Linde North America, has been named the Linde voting member of the newly formed Natural Gas Technology Committee of the Compressed Gas Association (CGA). The committee was recently organized to develop safety standards related to compressed natural gas (CNG) and liquefied natural gas (LNG).

Linde North America is a member of The Linde Group, a world-leading gases and engineering company. The CGA, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year, is an industry organization dedicated to the development and promotion of safety standards and safe practices in the industrial gases industry.

“The use of natural gas as a transportation and high horsepower fuel has been growing rapidly over the past several years,” said Peterson. “As a result, we need to address recommendations specific to its safe handling and distribution. And the CGA, with its expertise in developing standards for liquid and compressed industrial gases, is perfectly suited to develop standards for natural gas, which is similar in many ways to other industrial gases. I’m looking forward to being a part of this essential committee.”

Laura Brumsey, director of Operations and Administration for CGA, said “The new committee will address unique topics related to CNG and LNG. Its scope includes cryogenic and non-cryogenic equipment and procedures related to the conditioning, compression/liquefaction, storage, distribution, and usage of CNG and LNG.”
