Gas Natural Fenosa opens first CNG station in Galicia

The Mayor of San Cibrao das Viñas, Manuel Pedro Fernández, and the Director of Mobility Solutions of Gas Natural Fenosa, José Ramón Freire, opened a service station supplying compressed natural gas (CNG) for vehicles on the industrial estate in San Cibrao das Viñas (Ourense) – the first such station to be managed by the company in Galicia.

The new facility has two compressors with a capacity of up to 225 Nm3/h each and two double compressed natural gas pumps. The infrastructure is designed to supply the equivalent of 80 lightweight vehicles a day (18 GWh/year).

This infrastructure joins the existing network of public stations that supply natural gas for vehicles in Spain. 38 public stations supplying natural gas for vehicles currently operating in Spain, 22 of which belong to Gas Natural Fenosa. This figure means that Spain is one of the European countries with the most refuelling points offering this alternative. 20 of these public stations only supply compressed natural gas, 16 offer both compressed natural gas and liquefied natural gas, and two supply liquefied natural gas.
