Gasrec CEO promoting Bio-LNG at NGV 2014

Rob Wood, Chief Executive Officer of Gasrec, will addressed many of the world’s leading road transport companies on the benefits of using liquefied biomethane as a transport fuel, at Europe’s leading international gas vehicle show in Brussels.

Presenting an ‘Industry Innovations’ session, Wood made the environmental and commercial case for increased use of liquefied biomethane as a transport fuel, particularly for heavy commercial vehicles, highlighting the significant health risks faced by society today from transport pollution and its growing share of greenhouse gas emissions.

Wood explained how the heavy commercial vehicle market has changed over recent years and will highlight the strong growth his company is experiencing in the sale of its Bio-LNG fuel blend as more and more retail and logistics companies grow their gas powered fleets. He also revealed his plans to roll-out a network of Bio-LNG refuelling stations across Europe.

NGV 2014 Brussels, the 5th NGVA Europe international show and workshops event, is being held at the Brussels Kart Expo over 7th – 10th July. Its timing coincides with an ambitious proposal from the European Union to encourage significant growth in the gas refuelling infrastructure along its TEN-T network, which follows main transport routes across Europe from north to south and east to west.

Driving change towards ‘green’ mobility, Europe’s natural gas vehicle market (CNG, LNG and biomethane) currently stands at about 0.5% of all vehicles and is forecast to increase to around 5% by 2020, representing a staggering 17 million vehicles, according to the latest European fleet figures.
