Gaz-System, Techmadex to Establish Gas Meter Calibration Laboratory in Poland

GAZ-SYSTEM S.A., Gas Transmission Operator, concluded an agreement with the consortium headed by Techmadex S.A., for the design and construction of the Gas Meter Calibration Laboratory.

The Gas Meter Calibration Laboratory will be built on the site of the gas compressor station in Hołowczyce in the Mazovian Voivodship.

The most important part of the Laboratory will be the first natural gas meter calibration post at working pressure (mean and high pressure). The innovativeness of the post consists of the possibility of working in both a closed and open system.

The laboratory will serve to calibrate all the gas meters for first and second degree settlements at stations. This will enable much more precise gas volume measurements for settlements with customers at entry and exit points to the transmission system, which in turn will make more precise calculations of the balancing difference possible.

The tasks of the Contractor will include: preparation of the design documentation, performance of the construction and assembly works, the start-up of the post and the training of personnel.

The agreement was concluded as a result of the tender proceedings conducted by the investor. Apart from Techmadex S.A., the consortium comprises of GP Energia Sp. z o.o. (subsidiary of Techmadex S.A.) and Atrem S.A.

The net value of the object of the agreement amounts to over 26 mln PLN. The project is co-funded from EU funds, from the Operational Programme Innovative Economy within Action 1.4 – 4.1.

The opening of the Gas Meter Calibration Laboratory is planned for the end of 2014.
