Gazprom continues LNG discussions with Gasunie

Russian giant Gazprom on Friday extended its list of companies it engaged with in talks on cooperation in the small-scale LNG sector.

The company’s head, Alexey Miller met with Han Fennema, chairman of the executive board of Gasunie to discuss the framework agreement signed in July last year on small-scale LNG cooperation, Gazprom said in a statement.

The parties discussed the progress of the pilot project for the construction of a small-scale loading terminal in the port of Rostock that includes an LNG bunkering and filling stations.

Additionally, Miller and Fennema discussed the development of gas transmission routes from Russia to Europe.

In another meeting, Miller met with India’s minister of petroleum and natural gas, Dharmendra Pradhan, discussed the options of cooperation in the oil and gas sector.

The meeting focused on the possibility of supplying LNG from Gazprom’s international portfolio, including the existing 20-year contract with India’s gas utility GAIL, under which Gazprom delivers 2.5 mtpa of LNG per year.

Between 2009 and 2016, Gazprom delivered 26 LNG cargoes to India, totaling 1.7 million tons, the company said.
