Gazprom expands NGV fueling network

Gazprom of Russia said its expansion in the NGV market continues together with the construction of a small-scale LNG terminal in the port of Hamburg. 

The receiving, storage and LNG shipping facility, being developed with Gasunie, includes an LNG bunkering station and NGV filling station which will be supplied with liquefied natural gas from Gazprom’s planned LNG production facilities in northwestern Russia, according to the company’s statement.

Additionally, Gazprom is looking into the possibility of setting up more small-scale LNG production facilities in other Russian regions, especially in the Black Sea region, to export LNG to the countries near the Black Sea and the Danube river.

The Russian giant continued its expansion in the NGV market with the addition of 14 compressed natural gas stations since the start of 2016, bringing its total number to 66. The network is planned for further expansion by the end of the year.
