The contract covers combined property damage and business interruption all risks insurance for the operational phase of the wind farm consisting of 40 offshore wind turbines including foundations and inter-array cables.

A separate similar policy is also needed for the Infrastruktur Windkraftwerk Borkum (IWB), the operator of the wind farm’s offshore substation, covering only property damage for the substation.

The duration of the contract is 24 months, with an option for one 12-month renewal.

The tender remains open until 10 July.

In operation since 2015, the Trianel Windpark Borkum I comprises 40 5 MW Adwen turbines.

The IWB converter station, which is integrated into the wind farm, will also deliver power from the neighbouring 200 MW Trianel Windpark Borkum II wind farm to TenneT’s DolWin alpha substation.
