Germany: Fugro Completes Geotechnical Survey for Offshore Wind Farm ‘Arkona-Becken Südost’

E. ON contracted Fugro Consult GmbH to run a geotechnical exploration for offshore wind farm “Arkona-Becken Südost”, which E.ON is planning in the Baltic Sea.

Work which took place in the summer and early fall of this year , has now been completed in water depths of approximately 22 to 37 m.

Fugro used the Pauline platform ,the Excalibur- jackup barge and the ‘MV Fugro Commander’ drilling vessel to conduct the survey.

The geotechnical investigation included 79 boreholes with depths of up to 60 m below the seabed.

The Wison® system carried out continuous pressure soundings until the final depth in some locations of wind turbines and the substation.
