INTERSCHALT Makes Strong Impression with Innovative Service Concept

INTERSCHALT AG is expanding its portfolio of customers for the innovative maintenance concept Shore-based Maintenance (SBM) and has also been successfully looking after Liberty One since the start of the year. The Bremen-based shipping company currently operates a young fleet of vessels, all of which are between two and three years old.

The software and service provider for the shipping industry, INTERSCHALT, had already equipped Liberty One’s vessels with the latest technology, so it seemed logical for the shipowner to conclude a full maintenance contract with INTERSCHALT as well, covering all navigation and communications systems on board including the VDR. After six months, the Bremen-based shipping company is seeing positive results.

As part of its SBM, INTERSCHALT provides all inspection and maintenance work as well as parts and parts procurement at an annually agreed fixed price. This means no hidden follow-up costs for Liberty One, a reduced workload for its technical inspectors and safety improvements through constant status checks and no maintenance backlogs. Liberty One can now access a complete overview of the statuses of its vessels and their electronic systems, all from the office in Bremen.

A modern maintenance concept for a modern customer

The modern maintenance concept sits perfectly with the shipowner’s image and identity: ”Liberty One is a young, dynamic company founded on traditional knowledge and experience in maritime shipping yet completely attuned to the times. As a result, for our service and maintenance work we have opted for INTERSCHALT’s Shore-based Maintenance, an innovative solution which is tailored to our needs”, says Dietrich Schulz, Director of Liberty One Shipmanagement GmbH & Co. KG. The full maintenance package for navigation and communications systems and the VDR covers service for the entire fleet. INTERSCHALT coordinates and undertakes the maintenance and repair work, including APTs (Annual Performance Tests). ”We receive a transparent report, have full control over costs and our technical inspectors are relieved of routine jobs. The quality, reliability and transparency of the service provided fill us with confidence virtually every day”, concludes Dietrich Schulz after just over six months.
