Germany: TenneT Awards Contract for Subsea Cables & Associated Equipment

TenneT recently awarded a contract to Norddeutsche Seekabelwerke GmbH and Siemens AG for the supply of subsea cables and associated equipment for wind farms off Germany’s coast.

The Contract includes:

Lot 1: Production, supply and installation of AC submarine cables, including fibre optics, in the area of the cluster Dolwin, depending on the specific wind farm and a voltage level of approximately 155 kV;

Cable tray on the platform / the offshore wind farm operators  and development of crossing structures;

Contract also includes:

Lot 2: Production and delivery (at shipyard) of about 2-4 transportation vessels with reactive power compensation coils of up to 20 MVAr;

Lot 1 was awarded to Norddeutsche Seekabelwerke GmbH, and Lot 2 to Siemens AG.
