Golar LNG Charters Out 6 Carriers to Trafigura

Norwegian liquefied natural gas (LNG) transporter Golar LNG has reportedly chartered out six of its LNG carriers on a single-voyage basis to Swiss energy trader Trafigura, Reuters reports.

The charters will reportedly last until September, during which time the vessels might be used for a single voyage.

However, neither Trafigura nor Golar LNG confirmed the deal, and trading and shipping sources who disclosed the information to Reuters could not agree on the exact number of shipments, or whether the carriers will be used one time only.

Trafigura has recently won several tenders for the supply of LNG, including winning  a tender to provide Argentina with six cargoes of liquefied gas last week, as well as previously secured tenders in Mexico and Egypt.
