Golar starts fourth FLNG conversion talks with Keppel

Keppel Corporation confirmed that it has entered talks with Golar LNG for the fourth conversion of a Moss liquefied natural gas carrier into a floating liquefaction vessel.

Loh Chin Hua, Chief Executive Officer Keppel Corporation said Golar LNG has initiated talks with Keppel Shipyard for the project with the anticipated delivery in early 2019.

Reflecting on the current conversion projects, Chin Hua added that work is advancing well for the Hilli conversion.

Golar LNG recently informed that its Cameroon FLNG project has received approval and signature of the binding tolling term sheet thereby confirming the commercial terms for the FLNG vessel Golar Hilli.

Chin Hua added that the company will also commence work on Gimi, the second conversion project for Golar LNG once it receives the notice to proceed which is expected by the end of the year.

The third conversion project, Gandria, remains on track with feed study being carried out for potential deployment in Equatorial Guinea with Ophir.

The agreement for the conversion of the 126,000 m3 LNG carrier Gandria was signed in July with the delivery target set for the first half of 2019.
