Goldboro LNG Submits Environmental Assessment Report (Canada)

Goldboro LNG Submits Environmental Assessment Report

Pieridae Energy said that the Environmental Assessment report for the proposed Goldboro LNG project has been submitted to Nova Scotia Environment. The report was completed after much consultation with local communities, government agencies, and engagement with First Nation communities.

The report provides a comprehensive description of the proposed project, a detailed description of the existing environmental conditions, as well as a thorough assessment of potential environmental effects and how the project will mitigate and/or compensate for adverse effects.

The environmental assessment confirmed that with the proposed environmental management, mitigation, and compensation, adverse effects will be largely localized, short-term and reversible. None of the directly affected project areas are considered critical habitat for Species at Risk.

The assessment also confirmed that the economic benefits of the project will provide a significant opportunity for the Municipality of the District of Guysborough, local communities, the Province of Nova Scotia and Atlantic Canada.
