Goliat Contract to Siemens AS (Norway)

Eni Norge has on behalf of the Goliat-licence (PL 229/PL 229B) where Statoil is a partner, signed an EPCI contract with Siemens AS for delivery of Goliat Onshore Electrification System in Hammerfest.

The contract has a value of approx. 243 million NOK. The scope of work includes among other;

* New overhead line, and demolition of existing overhead lines

* New transforming station at Hyggevatn, including access road

* Underground cables from Hyggevatn substation to Årresjåbukta

* Underground bunker for cable splicing at the landfall at Årresjåbukta

The new transforming station at Hyggevatn will be connected to the regional grid with two 132 kV overhead transmission lines and will distribute power to Goliat, the local grid in Hammerfest and to Melkøya LNG.

The onshore installations will be ready for supply late 2012, while the electrification of the Goliat will be completed when the field starts production.

The Goliat installation will be partly electrified through a subsea power cable connected to the onshore electricity grid and has a capacity of 75 MW. A 50% CO2 emission reduction is obtained as compared to a system based on offshore generation of electricity only.

Goliat is scheduled to start production during 4Q 2013. Operator of the Goliat field is eni norge as (65%) together with partner Statoil (35%). The development of Goliat will be the first development of an oil field in the Norwegian sector of the Barents Sea.
