Greece offers offshore exploration acreage

Greece has launched two offshore exploration and production tenders.

The government has invited international companies to bid for the right to explore and produce oil and gas in the Ionian Sea and Crete areas.

The announcement follows recent applications submitted by Total-ExxonMobil-ELPE, interested in the offshore areas Southwest and West of Crete, and by Energean Oil & Gas, for a marine area in Western Greece (Ionian Sea).

Greece has invited the interested parties to submit their bids within 90 days of the date of publication of the Notice of Invitation to Tender in the Official Journal of the European Union. Tenders must be submitted to EDEY SA.

Offshore Energy Today has not managed to find the notice of invitation to tender in the official journal of the EU. It’s not clear when the notice will be published.
