Gulf Marine Services nets new MENA deal

Gulf Marine Services (GMS), a provider of self-propelled, self-elevating support vessels serving the offshore oil, gas and renewable energy sectors, has won a new contract award for one of its mid-size class vessels.

GMS informed on Tuesday that the contract, scheduled to start in the first quarter of 2017, is for three months, including options.

The vessel will be supporting offshore maintenance work in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

The UEA-based operator last week completed the documentation needed for the charter of one of its vessels in Europe related to a letter of intent received by the company in August.

Under the contract, the company would lease a large class SESV to support maintenance work in the oil and gas sector and is expected to begin work in the second quarter of 2017 with a duration of 18 months including options.
