Gulf Offshore Orders New PSV from SIMEK, Norway

Gulf Offshore Norge, a subsidiary of Gulfmark Offshore, Inc. has ordered a new PSV of Skipsteknisk design, from SIMEK in Flekkefjord Norway.  The vessel designated ST-216 Arctic, is based on the very successful ST-216L CD design, and will have new modified bow shape and a new improved tank configuration.

This vessel is designed for harsh environment operations, and will be ice classed and winterized for cold climate conditions. ST-216 Arctic will have over 1000 square meters of deck area and large cargo carrying capacity. In addition, the vessel will have a green profile and fitted for rescue and oil recovery capabilities. Delivery of this vessel is scheduled for the second quarter of 2013

“Even if Gulf Offshore Norge is familiar with ST-designs through management of three ST-216L CD, this is the first vessel of ST-design ordered by Gulf, and Skipsteknisk is very pleased with this and consider this as a recognition of their capabilities within this field.”
