Gwynt y Môr Update: 4 More Turbines Installed

Gwynt y Mor offshore wind farm project has advanced considerably from the last update and now it comprises four new wind turbines and an additional transition piece.

In the last 15 days installation vessels Sea Jack and Sea Worker (with assistance of Sea Golf, Sea Bravo, Sea Echo & Bever) were in charge of turbine installation, and the project now counts 84 of total 160 wind turbines.

Work on the offshore wind farm is continuing, with 20 transition pieces and 133 array cables still left to be installed. Until now, 28 array cables have been installed by the Polar Prince vessel.

AWJ Marine has warned of navigation hazards in and around the offshore wind farm area, because of 8 unlit monopiles, transition pieces and turbines, as well as 20 exposed monopiles, which may be submerged at certain states of tide.
