Haizea Wind delivers its last batch of SeaMade turbine towers
Haizea Wind has sent off the final two towers for the SeaMade offshore wind turbines from Bilbao.
The Spain-based Haizea Wind is delivering 12 wind turbine towers for the project, which will feature 58 Siemens Gamesa 8.4 MW turbines.
The first tower parts arrived from the port of Aviles in Spain to Belgium in mid-March, onboard the special purpose vessel Rotra Vente.
DEME’s Apollo installed the first turbine at the project site located some 50km off the coast in mid-June. The project produced its first power shortly after.
The 487 MW wind farm, which comprises the 252 MW Seastar and the 235 MW Mermaid offshore wind projects, will be Belgium’s largest offshore wind farm once commissioned this year.
