Helge Lund appointed to Schlumberger’s board

Oil and gas industry service provider, Schlumberger named former Statoil and BG Group CEO Helge Lund as a new director on June 1.

According to a filing to the United States Securities and Exchange Commission, Lund will serve as a director until the next annual meeting of the company’s stockholders.

He is expected to be appointed to one or more committees of the board at a later date, Schlumberger said. Currently, the board has not determined Lund’s initial committee assignments.

As a non-employee director, Lund will participate in the non-employee director compensation arrangements, Schlumberger said, adding that he will also be eligible for a pro-rated portion of the company’s annual non-employee director compensation.
