Hercules clinches Gulf of Mexico gig with Renaissance

U.S. offshore drilling contractor Hercules Offshore has informed that one of its drilling rigs has started working for Renaissance Offshore, an oil and energy company based in Houston, Texas. 

According to Hercules’ latest fleet status report on Tuesday, the Hercules 205 jack-up rig started working for Renaissance on November 2, 2015 in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico. The rig is contracted for 80 days with a dayrate between $49,000 and $51,000.

The Hercules 205 jack-up rig was built in 1979 and it is of a Bethlehem JU-200-MC design.

In the fleet report, Hercules also said that its 1971-built rig the Hercules 173 had been warm stacked as its prior contract ended on November 7, 2015.

Furthermore, the Hercules 350 rig, built in 1982, has been ready stacked. The rig was operating in the Gulf of Mexico, and its prior contract ended on November 3, 2015.
