Subsea World News has put together a recap of the most interesting articles from the previous week (March 06 – March 12).


DeepOcean has received a call-off under its new master service agreement (MSA) with BP.

The call-off covers the installation of a new flexible water injection riser and the recovery of the existing water injection riser in the Foinaven field, West of Shetland, in a water depth of 460 metres.

The work includes project management, engineering and logistics.


VNG Norge has awarded front end engineering and design (FEED) contracts for the subsea structures, umbilicals, risers & flowlines, and subsea production systems for the Pil & Bue developments.

The contract for the  subsea structures, umbilicals, risers & flowlines (SURF) was awarded to Subsea 7 and TechnipFMC.

The second FEED contract, for subsea production systems was awarded to TecnhipFMC and Aker Solutions.


IKM Subsea Singapore has secured a service contract from Solstad Offshore to provide ROV services onboard on the DLB ‘Norce Endeavour’ offshore Thailand.

IKM Subsea will provide the Merlin WR 200 work-class remotely operated vehicle (ROV) together with the required tooling to execute the project which consist of numerous platform and pipelines installation coupled with dive support for subsea tie-in and commissioning.


McDermott International has signed a memorandum of understanding with Saudi Aramco for a long-term land lease at the new maritime facility at Ras Al Khair in Saudi Arabia, currently being developed by Saudi Aramco.

McDermott plans to build a new fabrication and marine complex expected to use the facilities, increased automation and an optimized layout to increase McDermott’s abilities to service Middle East and Caspian markets.


Farstad Shipping has taken delivery of the light construction/IMR vessel ‘Far Superior’ from Vard Group.

Construction has been conducted by Vard Vung Tau in Vietnam.

The vessel will now begin its long-term framework agreement with TechnipFMC Norge for a firm period of 5 years and up to 5 years options.
