Subsea World News has put together a recap of the most interesting articles from the previous week (March 20 – March 26).


The Johan Sverdrup partnership has now decided to proceed with (DG2) Phase 2 of the Johan Sverdrup development.

Phase 1 of Johan Sverdrup is under development, with first oil scheduled for late 2019. The partners will now proceed with maturing Phase 2 for the investment decision and submission of the plan for development and operation (PDO) in the second half of 2018. Phase 2 is scheduled to come on stream in 2022.


Aker Solutions has secured a front end engineering and design (FEED) contract from Statoil for the second phase of the Johan Sverdrup development offshore Norway.

The work is for a new processing platform and the bridge that will connect it to the development’s riser platform. The contract also includes the design of a module and the work to integrate this with the riser platform.

 


Subsea 7 has been awarded a large contract by BP as part of the deepwater Mad Dog 2 development, located approximately 190 miles south of New Orleans.

The contract scope covers engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) of the subsea umbilicals, risers and flowlines (SURF) and associated subsea architecture.

 


OneSubsea, a Schlumberger company, has been awarded an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract by BP to supply the subsea production system for the Mad Dog 2 development in the Gulf of Mexico.

The scope of this supplier-led solution includes subsea manifolds, trees, control system, single and multi-phase meters, water analysis sensors, intervention tooling and test equipment for producer and water injection wells associated with the project.


GE Oil & Gas has opened a new facility in Takoradi Port, Ghana.

The facility, which will be the primary service center for deep-water offshore projects in Ghana, has a 1,600 square meters indoor test area with capability for testing three subsea trees (XTs) simultaneously, and 4,000 square meters of indoor and outdoor storage.
