The additional activities will be carried out by the Offshore E&C division and encompass the engineering, procurement, construction and installation required for the development of the Vandumbu subsea field at deepwater depths ranging from 1300 to 1500 metres.
McDermott will provide engineering, procurement and construction for two separate work packages for Maersk Oil under the redevelopment project. With a combined weight of all structures provided by McDermott at nearly 32,000 tons (29,000 metric tons), the scope of work represents one of the largest combined projects for McDermott in the North Sea.
Reportedly, the yard stated that is has been facing difficulties in its engineering process as well as with increases of material costs since the contract was signed.
The charter also has multiple 1-year options. The Lichtenstein will finish a contract in the Middle East and head directly over to the Gulf of Mexico, South America, Caribbean area.
The office is located in Hamriyah Free Zone in Sharjah. IKM’s expansion comes after a period of sustained interest, growth and demand recognition in the IKM Subsea service sector.
