Boskalis-Sets-Up-Aberdeen-Base

Boskalis Subsea Services has opened an office in Aberdeen dedicated to focus on growing business in the UK sector in the offshore and renewable industry.

The office is also being utilized by the other business units of the Boskalis Offshore Energy division, providing Transport & Installation scopes, Decommissioning projects, chartering of offshore vessels, cable laying activities, subsea rock installation and cable crossing projects.


Helix Expects Challenging Q4

Offshore services player, Helix Energy Solutions, has seen its net income slide to $9.9 million, or $0.09 per diluted share, for the third quarter of 2015 compared to net income of $75.6 million, or $0.71 per diluted share, for the same period in 2014.

Owen Kratz, President and Chief Executive Officer of Helix, said: “Industry conditions continue to remain challenging, and we expect Q4 results to be impacted by normal seasonal factors in the North Sea as well as a continuation of the weak industry environment.”


Technip has been awarded a subsea contract by JX Nippon Oil and Gas Exploration (Malaysia) Ltd in the Layang field, Block SK10, offshore Sarawak, Malaysia at a water depth of 85 meters.

The contract covers the engineering, procurement, fabrication, installation and commissioning of three flexible pipes totaling 9.9 kilometers.

 


FMC Technologies Takes Profit HitFMC Technologies has seen its third quarter 2015 net income slashed more than half from the prior-year quarter.

For the Q3 2015, the Houston-based subsea specialist posted profit of $82 million, or diluted earnings per share of $0.35, compared to a net income of approx. $170 million, or $0.7 diluted earnings per share for the year-ago quarter.

 


Aberdeen-based ROV services provider, ROVOP, has appointed new commercial director to its senior executive team and Board.

Euan Tait joins ROVOP from professional services firm KPMG LLP having spent his career in a variety of roles within corporate finance and oil and gas companies.
