HMM Orders Bulker Pair

Hyundai Merchant Marine (HMM) has made a decision to invest around $53 million in the construction of two new kamsarmax bulk carriers.

The decision to exercise an option for two 82,000 dwt bulkers was announced yesterday in a stock exchange filing.

The vessels will cost about $26.4 million each, with the delivery scheduled for for 2016.

Besides this latest two kamsarmax bulkers, HMM also ordered one panamax newbuilding bulker to be delivered in 2016, as well as four capesize bulkers to be delivered in 2015 and 2016.
