HOIDI wins jack-up leg work

HOIDI International and its production division, Tianjin HOIDI Group Co. Ltd, have won work for the rig leg fabrication & construction of two additional Bestford Offshore Pte Ltd Gusto MSC CJ46-X100-D from China Merchant Heavy Industries (CMHI).

CMHI will be constructing the rigs in Mazhou Island, Shenzhen, China.

HOIDI says that these units are T.B.N, and will go by Bestford 5 and 6 project title for now.

According to HOIDI, the scope of work consists of the fabrication, installation, erection, extension & construction of a complete set of rig legs for the two jack units. These two Gusto MSC CJ46-X100-D-type drilling platforms, in addition to the current four Bestford rigs in construction in CMHI, are used mainly for the offshore oil and gas exploration & production jobs.

Also, these CJ46 units can operate in water depths up to 350 feet, which can be lengthened to 375 feet and drill at a depth of 30,000 feet. The company says that the delivery of these units is expected mainly in 2016.
