House Resources Passes Gasline Bill

Following an extensive and thorough review of Senate Bill 138, Governor Sean Parnell today praised the House Resources Committee for passing his legislation to advance a large-diameter Alaska natural gas pipeline project.

Co-Chairs Eric Feige and Dan Saddler, and the House Resources Committee should be commended for their full vetting of our gasline legislation,” Governor Parnell said. “Together, we’ve made historic progress on a gasline, and we remain committed to an Alaska gasline that gets gas to Alaskans first, and then to markets beyond. I look forward to working with the House Finance Committee in the coming days to move forward this critically important bill.

Senate Bill 138 provides the framework for Alaska to become an owner in the Alaska LNG Project and move the project into the Pre-Front End Engineering and Design (Pre-FEED) stage – designing the project and refining associated cost and engineering elements.

Senate Bill 138 now moves to the House Finance Committee.
