Dumping decision could add to costs says PPA

The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) has warned that it would have to spend “billions of pesos more” if it adheres to a recent ruling to dump dredged materials farther from Manila Bay. Raul Santos, PPA assistant to the general manager, said a recent decision of the Philippine Coast Guard requires that dumping of dredged materials be made 40 nautical miles from the ports.
