Fiji: Ministry Gives Priorities List for River Dredging Project

RAKIRAKI has been listed as the fifth priority for dredging works by the Ministry of Agriculture. Agriculture officer Nacanieli Takele said the dredging priorities were Nadi, Ba, Sigatoka and Rewa River.

Although he could not confirm when the dredging would start in Rakiraki, Mr Takele said investigations would commence later in the year. Mr Takele said an estimated cost of the proposal could only be made after investigations to determine the scope of works. He said the project was likely to be outsourced like that at Nadi. as has been the case with the Nadi River project, which is in its third stage.
