Boca officials looking into options for inlet

A day after dozens of boaters came to the City Council to warn of shifting sands creating a hazard in the Boca Raton Inlet, city officials launched into action. City Manager Leif Ahnell, who on Monday threw out the possibility of closing the waterway, told council members Tuesday that the city is contacting the state and federal authorities who regulate dredging to try to fix the problem.
