Singapore, US navies widen scope and complexity of Exercise CARAT

The Singapore and US navies are set to take Exercise CARAT to another level by widening its scope and complexity.

The Singapore Navy has introduced a new satellite command and control system to allow fleets at sea to share essential information.

Another highlight of Exercise CARAT 2005 is the firing of the Barak missile against the drone which simulates an oncoming enemy aircraft at high altitude.

The exercise also addresses maritime and terrorism threats as well as base defence and salvage operations.
