Pupils prepare for oil industry roles

Scottish school pupils are getting ready to take part in a competition playing the parts of international oil operators in a bid to excite interest in the offshore industry. Children from 33 secondary schools in and around Aberdeen and the surrounding county are taking part in the online PetroChallenge, competition backed by Opito, the Oil and Gas Academy for training new offshore industry entrants.

Pupils will take part in the event, hosted by Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen at the beginning of September, with the support of educational sponsor Simprentis, with each school team competing to maximise their profit from directly investing in their own oil and gas assets or in opportunities offered by other teams.
