Marseilles Fos buys stake in multimodal hub

Marseilles Fos has purchased a 10% stake in Pagny Terminal for an undisclosed sum, as part of its strategy to develop the French port into a Mediterranean alternative to northern European gateway ports.

A statement from Marseilles Fos claimed the investment in the multimodal hub, located at the northern end of the Rhone-Saone corridor between Chalon and Dijon, would generate 40,000teu of new traffic each year by improving ‘landbridge’ links between the port, southern Germany and Switzerland.
