The seventh International Exhibition of technology, subcontracting and design for boats, yachts and ships “SEATEC” due to take place at CarraraFiere from 5 to 7 February 2009 will feature still more exhibitors and an interesting range of top competitions, five in all: the sixth MYDA – Millennium Yacht Design Award, the fifteenth Targa Rodolfo Bonetto, the third Abitare la Barca, the sixth Qualitec Technology Award and a new entry in the seventh Seatec, the first Qualitec Design Award. The common factor in all these is technological innovation in all its forms and obviously so in view of the importance of the themes.

The sixth MYDA – Millennium Yacht Design Award. The international design competition for sailing and motor leisure boats calls for entries from “beginners” and “professional” designers with new projects for boats that have been designed but not yet built.

The fifteenth Targa Rodolfo Bonetto. Two categories – Technological Innovation and Infrastructures – with two different themes: Small boats (maximum 12 metres), with sails or engine, with or without cabins, and Pleasure ports. The competition is open to students of any age or nationality from Faculties of Architecture, Design and Industrial Design and Design Schools.

The third Abitare la Barca. A design competition open to students from Faculties of Architecture, Naval Engineering and Industrial Design who will develop the theme “Open boats, sailing or motor, for purchase or charter, maximum eight metres, with particular attention to low environmental impact in their design”.

Sixth Qualitec Technology Award. An award open to the exhibiting companies for their substantial contribution to the development of innovative technology in the industry.

First Qualitec Design Award. An award for objects – components and furnishings – selected and put forward by the exhibiting companies, objects which show excellence in design, and contribute to the quality of life on board.
