Northrop seeks $200M

Philip A. Teel, Northrop Grumman Ship Systems president, said Tuesday the company’s $200 million request to Congress would pay to cover military shipbuilding costs created by Hurricane Katrina. During a briefing to the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., Teel said the supplemental request would cover costs associated with lost manpower, damage to the ships, contractor increases and outsourcing services because of the storm’s damage at the Pascagoula, Gulfport and New Orleans shipyards.
