SHI exports its ship construction technology

Samsung Heavy Industries(SHI) on July 27 announced that it concluded a contract with Atlantico consortium to build and operate a shipyard at the Suape area in Brazil, and to give technology support on ship construction design to this shipyard. Atlantico is a consortium composed of four companies, established to construct a shipyard at the Suape area.

SHI has thus been able to export, for the first time in Korea, its knowhows for constructing and operating a shipyard, which will be a new source of profit. In addition, it is able to make royalty income worth a total of US$14 million for exporting ship design map, and providing knowhows on shipyard construction and operation.
