Shipyard lands contract

Work on replacement vessel for Queen of the North begins December

A new contract with the BC Ferry Corporation will keep workers busy at Victoria Shipyards.

The company based at the Esquimalt Graving Dock will soon begin work on a $9-million contract for work on a ferry from Greece purchased by B.C. Ferries to replace the sunken Queen of the North. The contract will put about 150 workers from all trades to work.
