Piracy suspects must face trial

Ten Somali piracy suspects will be tried in Kenya, a magistrate has ruled. They are accused of holding the 16 crew members of an Indian ship for ransom.
They deny the charge. Their defence had questioned Kenya’s right to try the men, who were caught by the US Navy in international waters in January. But a magistrate in Mombasa, where the men where flown after their arrest, rejected this argument.

Piracy off Somalia has diminished after a record number of attacks last year.
