It’s hull to be famous

welcome aboard the 126-metre Octopus, the luxury yacht belonging to Microsoft billionaire Paul Allen.

It’s so large it cannot dock in ports on the French Riviera. Instead, it anchors several kilometres out to sea where a satellite-navigation system allows it to float in the same place without an anchor.

Guests invited on board – Steven Spielberg, Cameron Diaz and Bono to name but a few – can be choppered ashore.
