Hundreds of sharks swarm below GoM oil rig

You are entitled to see some unbelievable things while working on an offshore oil rig.

Last week, an oil worker on a rig offshore Louisiana took a footage of hundreds of sharks swimming around the rig in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico.

According to Fox 28, sharks are heading north to Lousiana waters after migrating south for the winter.

Houston’s Chron has quoted a marine biologists and a shark expert who said that it is normal for sharks to swarm around oil rigs as they release organic waste into water.

“There’s a lot of other fish that would eat that [organic waste from the rigs] and it would kick off a feeding frenzy,” Greg Stunz, marine biologist and shark expert at Texas A&M University, Corpus Christi told Chron.
